The CARE Clinic became officially incorporated on June 17, 1993, and remained under the auspice of CSM until it received independent tax-exempt status on August 22, 1994. Through several grant awards and a capital campaign effort chaired by Marshall H. Waren, a building at 239 Robeson Street was renovated. The clinic was dedicated on November 14, 1993 and opened its doors for service to uninsured, low income residents of Cumberland County on November 16, 1993.

The CARE Clinic provides free quality health care to eligible uninsured, low income adults who live in Cumberland County and surrounding areas. We rely entirely on the generosity of donors, grants from foundations and annual fund raising events to continue providing health care services in our community. We could not do this without the gift of time provided by our volunteer staff: Doctors, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists, Dentists, Dental Assistants, Nurses, Pharmacy Assistants, Chiropractors, Social Workers and Nutritionists. They treat our patients with the compassion and care they deserve. We also rely on the help of our numerous non-clinical staff who help our small staff to do the tasks needed and by serving on our board and committees. Check out our Fundraising/Special Events page for information on upcoming events. If you would like to receive invitations for events or receive our quarterly newsletter, call us at 910-485-0555.
