MEET A CARE CLINIC VOLUNTEER

In this section we will be randomly highlighting a CARE Clinic volunteer.

bullet Name: Stuart Augustine
bullet Occupation: Financial Advisor at Stifel, Nicolaus & Company, Incorporated, Member SIPC & NYSE
bullet Volunteer Category: Board Member , Chair of Development Committee
bullet How did you hear about The CARE Clinic?- "My Father volunteered here for years. After his passing, I wanted to pick up the torch and run with it. This organization gave him so much pride and self-fulfillment, and now having volunteered myself, I understand why."
bullet

How Long Have You Been at The CARE Clinic? -"I began just over a year ago in March of 2009."

bullet What has been your experience at The CARE Clinic?"It is a close-knit community of volunteers that has felt the same movement from God to do what is needed within one's own community. Many times, when you volunteer, you often do not see the fruits of your labor. At each board meeting for The CARE Clinic, we invite a patient to give their testimony. To hear the joy, relief, and thanks they have makes us all know we are doing God's work. We do not do this for the thanks, and I know I am not alone in feeling that I get more out of helping than what I actually give."
bullet

Why do you think others should volunteer here? - "Human nature is at its finest when ordinary citizens chip in to help one another. Often, it takes a major tragedy to see this spirit. At The CARE Clinic, you get to feel that spirit every day. If you have ever felt as if you want to help others, but either do not know how or do not think you have the resources, this is the place that will renew your faith in mankind, give you a sense of goodwill, and fill your soul."
