Last year, the Twelfth Annual CARE Clinic Golf Tournament netted $44,087 to benefit the care of clinic patients! This year’s tournament will be held on Friday, September 28, 2007 at Highland Country Club. The format is Captain's Choice with four person teams. To ensure your donation goes directly to benefit clinic patients, the tournament is no-frills, with beverages, and prizes donated.

The CARE Clinic provides free quality health care to uninsured, low income adults who live in Cumberland County. The clinic relies on the generosity of donors, grants and annual fund raising events such as this golf tournament to be able to provide help to patients like Theresa.

Without insurance, “Theresa” avoided seeing a doctor. However, when she repeatedly found herself short of breath, feeling tightness in her chest and unable to keep up with her three children, she sought help at The CARE Clinic.

The volunteer physician who examined “Theresa” diagnosed her with asthma. He took the time to explain the importance of controlling her asthma by using a combination of medications regularly. By taking the prescribed medicines, she could help prevent asthma symptoms and attacks and lead a more normal life. Unfortunately, “Theresa” could not afford $150 a month for the prescribed medication.

One of the most important things we do at The CARE Clinic is to provide prescribed medications to our patients at no charge. You can be a partner in this miracle of CARE! Our cost of treating and providing prescription medications is approximately $52 per patient. Your participation will help ensure that many uninsured, low income patients like “Theresa” will be able to receive the medications they need to get well and stay healthy.
